The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for the 2025 admission exercise into public universities across Nigeria to November 17, 2025.
The board announced the extension in a statement on Monday, explaining that it followed consultations with key stakeholders in the education sector. The new date replaces the earlier deadline of October 31.
According to JAMB, the extension is to allow public universities more time to complete their admission processes and ensure all qualified candidates are properly considered.
The board, however, warned that all admissions must be concluded within the new timeline, as no further extension will be granted. It also urged institutions to strictly adhere to the approved admission guidelines and upload their lists on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) portal.
JAMB assured candidates that the move is aimed at promoting fairness and ensuring a smooth transition into the 2025/2026 academic session. Private universities and other tertiary institutions are expected to continue their admission processes based on previously approved schedules.
