Nigerian Priest Begs Trump to Help Stop Killings of Christians

A Catholic priest in Nigeria has called on former U.S. President Donald Trump to help stop the killings of Christians in the country.

In a video that has gone viral, the priest said Christians were being “slaughtered like cows” and begged Trump to “come quickly” before it is too late. “We are dying every day. President Trump, please come quickly delay is dangerous,” he said.

Some church leaders and Christian groups in Nigeria say what is happening is a “Christian genocide.” They accuse the government of failing to protect them from terrorists and armed groups.

But the Nigerian government says there is no genocide, arguing that violence affects everyone Muslims and Christians alike and is caused by criminals and terrorists, not religion.

Trump’s Reaction Raises Tension

Trump recently said he might take “military action” if Nigeria’s government fails to protect Christians. The Nigerian government warned that any foreign help must respect its sovereignty.

Nigeria has faced years of attacks from groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP, as well as clashes between farmers and herders; thousands have died, and many people both Christians and Muslims have been forced to flee their homes.

The priest’s emotional plea shows how desperate many communities feel as they struggle with insecurity and loss. “The world must not wait for another tragedy before acting,” he said.
