“Wike Reaffirms Loyalty to Tinubu, Defends Pragmatic Leadership Amid Political Scrutiny”

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reiterated his unwavering allegiance to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a recent interview on CHANNELS Television. When asked about his political loyalty, Wike confidently responded, “You don’t need to question me about Asiwaju, don’t you know I’ll lead the campaign in Rivers State?”

Having served two terms as the Governor of Rivers State, Wike made it clear that he continues to hold significant influence in the region and is ready to rally support for President Tinubu whenever the need arises.

His statement comes amid ongoing scrutiny regarding his ties with both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his former party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

While he has not formally defected from the PDP, Wike has maintained a collaborative relationship with the APC-led federal government, especially since his appointment as FCT Minister.

Wike emphasized that his primary commitment lies in driving effective governance and fostering Nigeria’s development, rather than being confined to strict party affiliations.

His remarks have sparked varying reactions within political circles, with some commending his pragmatic approach to leadership, while others criticize what they perceive as political inconsistency.

Nevertheless, Wike stands firm, asserting that his choices are motivated by a genuine desire to serve the people and ensure progress in both Rivers State and across the nation.
