President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended Christmas greetings to Nigerians, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to religious freedom, peace and national unity.
In his Christmas message on Wednesday, the President said his government remains committed to ensuring that all Nigerians are free to practice their religion without fear, harassment or discrimination. He stressed that the right to worship freely is guaranteed by the Constitution and must be protected at all times.
He called on Nigerians to embrace the values of love, compassion and tolerance associated with the Christmas season, noting that no citizen should suffer because of their faith or belief.
However, while reflecting on the significance of Christmas, the President urged Christians to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, whom he described as the “Prince of Peace,” and to use the season to promote harmony and understanding across religious lines.
He mentioned that the government has been working with religious leaders across the country to promote peace and help tackle security challenges.
The President also advised Nigerians travelling for the Christmas celebrations to be patient on the roads and obey traffic rules, wishing them a safe and happy holiday.
