The Vice Chairmen of all Local Governments across Oyo State have unequivocally declared their unwavering support and loyalty to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, amidst unfounded rumours of impeachment circulating in certain quarters.
In a joint statement issued following an emergency meeting, the Vice Chairmen described the impeachment rumour as baseless, misleading, and a calculated attempt by detractors to distract the present administration from its people-oriented agenda.
The forum reaffirmed that Governor Makinde has continued to demonstrate exemplary leadership, a strong commitment to good governance, and dedication to the sustainable development of Oyo State since assuming office. They noted that his administration has consistently prioritized critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic growth, thereby earning the trust and confidence of the people.
“We stand firmly with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, whose leadership has brought stability, progress, and renewed hope to Oyo State. The rumours of impeachment are not only false but also a disservice to the democratic will of the people,” the statement read.
The Vice Chairmen further emphasized that the existing synergy between the State Government and Local Government administrations remains strong, cordial, and unshaken. They pledged their continued cooperation and support in ensuring that the dividends of democracy are delivered effectively to every grassroots community across the state.
They also called on the entire populace of Oyo State to disregard the malicious rumors and remain focused on the ongoing developmental strides being championed by the Makinde-led administration.
The forum reiterated its commitment to promoting unity, peace, and political stability across all Local Government Areas in Oyo State.
