Ooni of Ife Praises Tinubu’s Strategic FCC Appointments

In a powerful endorsement, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for shaking up the Federal Character Commission with the appointments of Hon. Ayo Omidiran and Mr. Eludayo Eluyemi calling it a game-changer for fairness and national unity.

In a statement issued by the Ooni’s Palace in Ile-Ife on Wednesday, the revered monarch described the appointments as both timely and well-deserved, praising the President for recognizing individuals with proven track records of public service, integrity, and national commitment.

“This is a commendable move by President Tinubu. These appointments are a clear recognition of excellence, patriotism, and dedication to the Nigerian project,” Oba Ogunwusi said.

He emphasized that Omidiran and Eluyemi had distinguished themselves over the years in their respective fields, and their new roles at the FCC would allow them to further contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

The Ooni noted that the Federal Character Commission plays a vital role in maintaining national balance in appointments and resource distribution, ensuring that no segment of the country is marginalised.

He urged both appointees to see their new responsibilities as a national calling that transcends local or regional interests.

“These positions are not just for the benefit of Osun State, but for the unity and progress of Nigeria as a whole. I urge them to serve with fairness, humility, and a strong sense of responsibility,” Oba Ogunwusi stated.

He also called on other public officials across the country to emulate President Tinubu’s commitment to rewarding merit and promoting national unity through balanced representation in federal appointments.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Hon. Ayo Omidiran is a veteran politician and former House of Representatives member for the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency of Osun State. Hailing from Ikire in Irewole Local Government Area, she is celebrated for her passionate work in community development, championing women’s rights, and promoting national cohesion.

Mr. Eludayo Eluyemi, on the other hand, has served in various capacities within Osun State’s public service and is regarded as a diligent and principled administrator.

The appointments are expected to bring renewed leadership and a strengthened sense of purpose to the Federal Character Commission, which is tasked with ensuring equitable distribution of posts in the public service and promoting unity in Nigeria’s diverse society.
