Relief swept through Niger State communities as the Federal Government confirmed the release of 130 pupils who had been held captive since their abduction from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri last month.

The release ends weeks of worry for lots of families. So far, 230 students and staff are back with their families after the November 21 attack, when armed men raided the school. Some students escaped right away, and others were freed earlier.
Authorities, church leaders, and Nigerians across the country have welcomed the development, describing it as a significant breakthrough in one of the most alarming school abduction cases in recent memory.
Government officials are working to safely reunite the students with their families and make sure they get medical care and emotional support after the traumatic ordeal.
The successful release underscores the importance of ongoing efforts by security agencies and the government to protect schools and safeguard children across the country.
