For two years, the airwaves of Ibadan have been filled with something special, a voice of warmth, family values, and purposeful broadcasting. WellsRadio 89.3 FM, “Your Preferred Wholesome Radio,” is celebrating its second anniversary not with a glittering party, but with a heartfelt gift to the community it serves.
In a refreshing departure from conventional celebrations, the station has launched “Family Health Week,” a community-focused initiative dedicated to promoting the health and social wellbeing of Ibadan residents. This move underscores the station’s core identity: a broadcaster deeply woven into the fabric of its community.
Mr. Ayo Emmanuel-Ojo, the Acting General Manager, beautifully articulated the station’s philosophy behind the unique anniversary format. He explained that the celebration was deliberately structured as a service-oriented programme—a tangible “thank you” to the loyal audience that has embraced the station since its inception.
“WellsRadio’s identity as a family-focused station comes with the responsibility of engaging families beyond the airwaves,” Emmanuel-Ojo stated. He emphasized that healthy families remain central to the station’s mission and values, a principle championed by its founder and CEO, Evangelist Lillian Bademosi.
This initiative powerfully translates that vision from concept to action, proving that the station’s commitment to families is not just heard, but felt.

Family Health Week: A Detailed Schedule of Care
Running from Wednesday, January 14, to Saturday, January 17, 2026, the week is packed with free, essential medical and wellness services, with special attention to families, the elderly, and vulnerable groups. Here’s how you can benefit:
- Wednesday, January 14: The week kicked off with an energizing Health Walk, fostering community spirit and fitness. Participants gathered at the WellsRadio premises on Alaafin Avenue, Oluyole Estate, and walked together to the High Court, Ring Road.
- Thursday, January 15: Focus turns to vision. Residents are invited to access free eye care services provided by Makkah Specialist Eye Hospital at Elebu Junction, Akala Expressway, Ibadan.
- Friday, January 16: This day is dedicated to the wellbeing of our cherished elders. Premiere Physiotherapy in Oluyole Estate will facilitate free physiotherapy care and an informative health talk tailored for the elderly.
- Saturday, January 17: The week culminates with comprehensive free general medical care services offered by Zoe Specialist Hospital on Oluyole Estate, Ibadan.
All daily services commence at 10:00 a.m., providing ample opportunity for community members to participate.
This anniversary initiative is the natural extension of what WellsRadio 89.3 FM has stood for since 2024: family-oriented, value-driven, and safe content. In a world of noisy media, the station has carved a niche as a sanctuary of meaningful programming, reinforcing its commitment to not just entertain, but to educate, uplift, and unite.
As WellsRadio steps into its third year, the message is clear. Its celebration is not about looking inward with self-congratulation, but about reaching outward with open hands. By investing in the health of Ibadan’s families, the station is investing in the very heart of the community it calls home.
Here’s to two years of purposeful broadcasting, and to many more years of serving, engaging, and growing with the wonderful people of Ibadan.
Happy Anniversary, WellsRadio 89.3 FM!
