FAAN Begins Lagos Airport Construction

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has begun reconstruction of Terminal One at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA).

In a travel advisory issued Friday, FAAN advised passengers to arrive at the airport early, warning of possible delays and disruptions caused by the ongoing renovation work.

“The reconstruction project may cause some inconvenience, and we advise all travelers to plan accordingly to avoid missed flights,” FAAN stated.

The Terminal One renovation is part of a nationwide aviation upgrade, backed by over N900 billion approved by the Federal Executive Council on August 1. The upgrade aims to improve passenger experience, enhance airport safety, and boost operational efficiency in line with international standards.

FAAN has assured travelers that it is taking all necessary steps to minimize disruptions throughout the construction period and has appealed to the public for patience and cooperation.
