Award-winning actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele said her new movie, Behind The Scenes, was inspired by a message from God.

Speaking at FilmOne’s end-of-year event, Funke said she first wanted to make a sequel to her hit movie A Tribe Called Judah, but kept getting signs not to. She tried writing four other scripts and even planned to work with another filmmaker, but she felt God wanted her to focus on Behind The Scenes instead.

According to her, the idea started from one scene that felt real to her. The movie shows the real-life challenges people face behind the glamour of success.

The movie, produced by Funke Akindele Network, will be released in cinemas across Nigeria on December 12, 2025. It features popular actors like; Tobi Bakre, Veeiye, Uzor Arukwe, Uche Montana, Ini Dima-Okojie, Ibrahim Chatta, and others.
