The wait is over for thousands of Lagos State University students, as the Senate has announced the immediate resumption of lectures and campus life from Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
This follows the resolution of the industrial dispute initiated by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Staff Unions on July 31, 2025, which had brought academic and administrative activities to a halt.
As part of the resumption plan, students are expected to return to their hostels at the Ojo, Ikeja, and Epe campuses starting Wednesday. The Senate also announced that the Second Semester Examinations for the 2024/2025 academic session, which were previously put on hold, will now commence on Monday, August 18, 2025.
“Students are advised to return promptly and prepare adequately for the examinations,” the statement urged.
Recall that the university management had, during a virtual Senate meeting held on Saturday, August 2, suspended all academic and extracurricular engagements due to the strike action by staff unions.
With the strike now called off and normalcy returning, LASU is set to fully reopen, allowing students and staff to resume academic work and campus life.
