UPDATED: N’Assembly Reopens Senator Natasha’s Office

The National Assembly has reopened the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, after it remained sealed for six months. The office, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing, was unsealed on Tuesday by Alabi Adedeji, Deputy Director of the Sergeant-at-Arms, ahead of the Senate’s resumption on October 7, 2025.

Although no official reason was provided for the initial sealing of the office, the action sparked speculation and concern about the senator’s status and involvement in legislative affairs. Her absence from Senate sessions during this time further intensified discussions among observers and constituents.

The reopening of the office comes at a time of renewed debate over representation and accountability in the Senate. It also signals that the issues surrounding Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s access may have been addressed ahead of the next legislative sitting.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, a leading figure from Kogi Central, is recognized for her strong advocacy on social justice, infrastructure development, and gender equity. Her return to the Senate chamber is anticipated to reinvigorate her legislative efforts and initiatives focused on her constituency.

With plenary resuming on October 7, all eyes will be on Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s role and the restoration of her duties.
