The political wave in Ward 7, Ido Local Government, took a new turn today as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held its first meeting under a new leadership and newly inaugurated executive committee. The inauguration of the new Ward Executives took place on Sunday, 19th October 2025, with all ward leaders and members present to witness the leadership transition.

The change in leadership follows a structural adjustment made to address the fraudulent activities and anti-party behaviors of the previous administration. Consequently, Leader Atere was announced as the new Head of Ward 7, a decision grounded in his proven integrity, loyalty, and outstanding service to the party over the years.

In his address, the Ward Chairman, Alfa Femi Aliu alongside other executives, was charged to work diligently towards strengthening and advancing the party’s progress at all levels.

The State Auditor, Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters in Ido & Ibarapa East, Hon. Matthew Akao, urged members to remain steadfast and confident in the party’s renewed vision.

Furthermore, the Party Chairman, Hon. Musibau Emiola, clearly outlined the reasons behind the leadership restructuring, emphasizing the need for transparency, discipline, and collective growth.

The Political Head/Administrator of Omi-Apata LCDA, Hon. Barr. Olayemi Oluwasina, the Leader of the House, Hon. Deji, and other political appointees also graced the occasion, encouraging members with words of motivation and financial support.

The Ward 7 Football Representatives were specially recognized and appreciated for their efforts in promoting unity and sportsmanship within the ward.

Indeed, the PDP in Ido Local Government Area remains the strongest, and Ward 7 stands as a shining testament to that strength.
