The executives of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ward 7, Chapter of Ido Local Government, wish to address the recent resignation of the former Ward Chairman, Alhaji Adelakun Adesola Fatai, and his subsequent decision to join another political party. While we respect his right to make personal choices, we strongly distance ourselves from his unguarded and unfounded remarks against the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the PDP.

It is important to clarify that long before his resignation, the executives of PDP Ward 7, Chapter of Ido Local Government, had already reviewed his conduct and considered removing him from office. This was due to actions that were inconsistent with the vision, discipline, and values of our great party. His eventual resignation, therefore, only confirmed the decision already under review.

Furthermore, we wish to correct the misleading claims made by Alhaji Adelakun in his resignation letter. Contrary to his statement that he did not benefit from the party he led for over seven years, records show otherwise. His children graduated from the Oyo State Technical School, he received official vehicles during his tenure, and he was nominated to serve on different boards within Ido Local Government. These are clear benefits derived from the platform of the PDP.

Therefore, describing himself as neglected is not only untrue but also an attempt to mislead the public. His actions reveal a pattern of betrayal despite the opportunities and privileges he enjoyed while serving under the PDP.

In contrast, the executives of the PDP Ward 7, Chapter of Ido Local Government, remain united, focused, and fully committed to supporting the Governor and the PDP. We reaffirm our unwavering loyalty to Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde, whose people-centered governance, infrastructural development, and impactful programs continue to uplift the lives of the good people of Oyo State.

One person’s exit cannot and will not weaken us. On the contrary, it has strengthened our determination to build a more united, disciplined, and formidable party structure at the ward, local government, and state levels.

We, the undersigned executives of the PDP Ward 7, Chapter of Ido Local Government, hereby pledge our continued support for Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde and the PDP family at large.
