Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Daniels Chukwuji, mother of popular actress Regina Daniels, has officially announced her candidacy for the presidency of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

Daniels unveiled her campaign on the guild’s official Instagram page, outlining a leadership vision focused on protecting members’ rights, empowering creatives, and elevating the professional standing of actors in the industry.

With nearly two decades of experience in Nollywood, Daniels will face off against the guild’s current national secretary, Abubakar Yakubu, who has also declared his interest in the top position. Yakubu’s campaign promises include improved member welfare, fairer remuneration, and safer working environments.

The AGN election is scheduled for December 6, 2025, with the winner set to take over from Emeka Rollas, whose tenure concludes at the end of the year.
