UCL: Juric Drops Lookman Again for PSG Showdown

Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has been excluded from the squad for their 2025/26 UEFA Champions League opener against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, marking his fourth straight absence under head coach Ivan Juric.

According to TMW, Lookman was one of five Atalanta players who missed training on Tuesday and has been left out of the squad for Wednesday’s clash against PSG in Paris.

Lookman has now missed all of Atalanta’s matches this season, including the first three in Serie A, amid reports linking his absence to a failed summer transfer. He was reportedly seeking a move away, but with no deal agreed before the window closed, his place in Ivan Juric’s plans remains uncertain.

The Nigerian international played a crucial role in Atalanta’s success last season, highlighted by his stunning hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final that secured the club’s first major European title. However, his current exclusion suggests a possible fallout with the new coaching staff or a disciplinary response from the club following his attempted summer exit.

With Atalanta set to face a tough PSG side in their Champions League opener, Lookman’s absence is a notable one. His pace, creativity, and goal-scoring threat could have been vital assets in such a high-profile fixture. As the season progresses, it remains uncertain whether the talented winger will be reintegrated into the squad or if his time in Bergamo is drawing to a close.
