Oba Rashidi Ladoja will be crowned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, following the approval of his nomination by Governor Seyi Makinde and confirmation by the Olubadan-In-Council during meetings held at Ladoja’s Bodija residence.
The development was confirmed on Wednesday after investigations revealed that Governor Seyi Makinde has officially approved Ladoja’s nomination. Earlier that day, a state government delegation reportedly met with the former Oyo State governor and members of the Olubadan-In-Council at his Bodija residence.
Adeola Oloko, media aide to the Olubadan-designate, confirmed the coronation date, stating, “Oba Ladoja will be officially enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025.”
Reports also indicate that Ladoja met with the kingmakers at his residence on Tuesday, further advancing the traditional preparations ahead of the official installation.
Ladoja’s enthronement is expected to attract dignitaries from across the country, marking a new chapter in the history of Ibadan’s revered monarchy.
