PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu, Others for Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled several top members, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, and former National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, accusing them of working against the party’s interests.

The motion to expel was moved by veteran party leader Chief Bode George and seconded by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State. According to the party, the move was unanimously approved and ratified by “an overwhelming majority” of delegates. The decision was taken on Saturday during the party’s National Convention held in Ibadan.

According to the PDP, the affected members were removed because they engaged in “anti-party activities,” meaning they acted in ways that weakened the party or went against its goals. Party leaders said the expulsion was necessary to restore discipline and unite the PDP ahead of the 2027 elections.

Aside from Wike, Fayose, and Anyanwu, several other officials who were expelled, include; Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Hon. Austin Nwachukwu and a number of other senior party members.

Meanwhile, some PDP leaders supported the decision, saying it would help the party move forward, however, others disagreed, arguing that the expulsions could worsen internal divisions. Wike’s associates also dismissed the convention, claiming it lacked credibility.
